Tricks and tips for getting the perfect Myrtle Beach rental experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- Reserve your rental home in the Spring or Fall to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
- Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
- Property management companies typically offer customers an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guides contain offers and deals for nearby accommodations and attractions.
Choosing the best vacation rental:
- Choose dates and budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Oceanfront Upgraded1 BR w\/ Full Kitchen at SeaWatch ~ POOLS ~ BEACH Hot Tubs! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, reach out to the property owner before you reserve the rental. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to establish what is best for your vacation group.
- Are you looking for specific amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. .
- Some rentals allow pets, and some do not. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the host about pet restrictions before booking.
Know before you go:
- Add the property manager's information to your phone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Document any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are beneficial if a dispute arises.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are an excellent source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Keep your rental home locked while you're gone! Don't let burglars spoil your family vacation.
- Re-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed everything at departure. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, take pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on excellent feedback to compel new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will appreciate that you share your experience find their best rental home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
