Booking the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
How to get the best value:
- Reserving a rental home in Spring or Fall is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are reserved early. Reserving your vacation home six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your family qualifies for a special rate.
- Property managers often offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guides contain offers and deals for local accommodations and attractions.
Use filters to narrow your search:
- Select a group lead, select your vacation dates, and select a budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Oceanfront 2 Bedroom Condo w\/ Gorgeous View + Official On-Site Rental Privileges has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is regularly accessible online. If they are not listed, email or call the property owner before you reserve your rental. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches. You'll need to determine what bed configuration is best for your vacation group.
- Visiting for a single attraction or event? Try a map search to find nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. .
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to find a property that allows animals. Request information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Often, hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
More considerations:
- Add the host's contact info to your phone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Document any issues with the property at check in, and immediately send them to the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be very helpful if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents a lot of concerns.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a terrific source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home when you are away, just like you would back home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all personal items. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take photographs of the property to record its condition.
- Did you have a terrific stay? Many rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
