Rental home booking tips:
How to get the best rental value:
- Summer time is high season in Myrtle Beach. Booking in the Fall or Spring is an excellent way to save on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- The sooner your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are booked early. Booking your vacation home up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
- Hosts sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides that include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Finding the perfect rental home in Myrtle Beach:
- Start by having your family decide on trip dates and a maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Oceanfront 2 Bedroom Condo w\/ Gorgeous View + Official On-Site Rental Privileges has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is often accessible on booking pages. If not, email or call the property manager before you book the property. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to establish what is best for your vacation.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach attraction you crave, keep an eye out for properties that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you must book a pet-friendly rental. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Usually, property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
More considerations for your visit:
- Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property. Put the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Make a record of any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately send them to the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are valuable if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, stereo or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents many issues.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers disrupting your peaceful home. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Lock your rental home while you are away. Protect your property!
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected everything. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, remember to take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent reviews to compel future bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
