Tips to get the best rental experience:
How to get the best rental home value:
- To find the best vacation home within your budget, we highly recommend booking in Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities.
- The earlier you can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked early. Reserving your vacation home 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Property managers often offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guides have coupons for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Filter your rental search:
- Select a group leader, select your dates, and select a spending budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Oceanfront 3 Bedroom Condo w\/ Amazing View + Official On-Site Rental Privileges has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is often available on booking pages. Otherwise, contact the host before you book your home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to determine what configuration is best for your vacation.
- Does your family require particular amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
- Some rentals allow pets, and others do not. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the property management company about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
Some things to know before you go:
- Be sure you get the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home. We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone.
- To make certain no damages are linked to your family's visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas during arrival. E-mail the rental manager immediately to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be useful.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, elevator or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent many concerns.
- Be respectful. Frequently, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Lock your vacation home while you are out and about. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all belongings. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental a final time and look for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, remember to take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave a review! Property managers rely on great ratings to stimulate new bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your review find their best vacation home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
