Tricks and tips for getting the best vacation home experience:
How to get the best rental home value:
- Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Winter holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Book your Myrtle Beach rental home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Booking websites usually offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, travel guides contain deals for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.
Choosing and booking your prefectrental home:
- Select a group lead, select your vacation week, and select a budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Oceanfront Bliss Oceanfront Room 5th Flr has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is usually accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, call the property owner before you reserve the home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to work out what is right for your trip.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to search for a property that allows animals. Get specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach destination you love, look for homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
Advice for a great stay:
- Store the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your vacation home while you are away. Keep your property safe!
- To ensure that no damages are linked to your visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas during check in. Call the property manager immediately to record any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors bothering your peaceful neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the property to confirm you've collected all of your things. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, remember to take photos of the rental to record its condition.
- Did you have a fantastic time? Most rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your property and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
