Strategies for getting the perfect rental home experience:
When to visit Myrtle Beach & When to book:
- Summer months are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Book your Myrtle Beach rental property in Spring or Fall to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- The sooner your group can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation rental six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
- Property managers sometimes offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
- Booking websites typically offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Often, management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides that include special offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Selecting the perfect rental:
- Select a group leader, choose your vacation dates, and choose a budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Suite with Beautiful Ocean Front View has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is commonly available online. If they are not listed, email or call the property manager before you reserve your home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to determine which bed configuration is right for your vacation group.
- Visiting for a single event or attraction? If so, use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- Some properties allow pets, and others don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the host about pets before booking.
More tips for your stay:
- Put the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas during arrival. E-mail the rental manager immediately to document any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent lots of difficulties.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a great source for finding the best local attractions.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Lock your vacation home while you're away. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- Double-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at departure. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property a final time and scan for damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a excellent stay? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
