Tips to get the very best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
How to get the best rental home value:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are booked very early. Booking your rental property 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal SC. Reserving a rental home in the Spring or Fall is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
- Property management companies frequently offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guide magazines contain discounts for nearby accommodations and attractions.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- Select a group lead, choose your vacation week, and choose a spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Compass Cove Resort Unit 1217 - Oceanfront has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is normally accessible on booking websites. If not, email or call the property manager before reserving the property. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to work out what configuration is suitable for your family.
- Some properties allow pets, and some do not. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the owner about pet restrictions before booking.
- Looking for specific amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental home.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
Some things to know before you go:
- Get the owner's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental. Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, intercom or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents many problems.
- Keep your rental home locked while you are gone! Don't let burglars spoil your vacation.
- To make certain no damages are attributed to your visit, make a record of any problem areas during check in. Make contact with the host immediately to document any damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be useful.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Frequently, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can often help. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Double-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items at departure. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a fantastic vacation? Most rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
