Myrtle Beach rental home tips and tricks:
Get the most from your rental home budget:
- Summer time is high season in Myrtle Beach. Reserving a rental home in Spring or Fall is a good way to save money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Some hosts and property managers offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Property management companies usually offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guides have deals for local tours, shops, and attractions.
How to pick the perfect vacation home:
- Start by having your group choose date ranges and a max budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Location! 2 Min Walk to Beach WaterPark Splash Pad New Reno has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually accessible on booking pages. If not, call the property management company before reserving the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to establish what bed configuration is optimal for your vacation.
- Are you visiting for a specific event or attraction? Try a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Pet fees or costs may be applied to your contract.
Know before you go:
- Add the host's information to your phone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- During arrival, record any damages to the property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent quite a few problems.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Frequently, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are out, just like you would back home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on good reviews to compel future reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will will be grateful for your feedback find their best vacation rental. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
