Tips for getting the perfect rental home experience:
When to go & When to book:
- To get the most suitable vacation home for your budget, we highly recommend booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite Myrtle Beach restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked early. Booking your vacation rental six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
- Hosts sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family.
- Property management companies frequently offer guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guides have discounts for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Planning and picking a perfect Myrtle Beach vacation home:
- Choose vacation dates and budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. Recently Updated! Oceanfront Condo-Palace 1404 has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rental home search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly available online. If they are not listed, email the host before you book the home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to work out what configuration is optimal for your vacation.
- Looking for unique amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Additional pet fees or charges applied to your contract.
Considerations for your stay:
- Add the host's information to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- At Check-in, note any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Respect your neighbors. Often times, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are away, just like you would at home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the property to confirm you've collected all personal items. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, take photos of the property to record its condition.
- Leave feedback! Property managers rely on great ratings to inspire future bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will will be grateful for your experience find their best rental home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
