Tips to get the perfect Myrtle Beach rental experience:
When to book & When to go:
- To get the best value, try changing your group's vacation week to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer excellent weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic.
- Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Property management companies sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
- Property managers usually offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines that include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Choosing and booking a perfect Myrtle Beach rental home:
- First and foremost, have your family decide on a vacation week and a spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Oceanfront Family Friendly Condo- Beautiful Views! Steps to the Beach has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is generally available online. Otherwise, reach out to the property manager before reserving the property. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to work out what is right for your vacation family.
- Visiting for a single attraction? If so, use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking
- Some rental properties allow pets, but some do not. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
Tips for your stay:
- Get the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home.
- During check-in, make note of any issues with the property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a fantastic resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are gone, just like you would back home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on great reviews to compel future reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will be thankful you shared your experience find their best rental home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
