How to find the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
How to get the best rental home value:
- Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer is the most expensive season in Myrtle Beach. Book your Myrtle Beach rental in the Fall or Spring to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Some hosts offer discounts for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer their guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitor guides have discounts for local accommodations, tours and attractions.
Filter your rental search:
- First, have your family choose a vacation week and a spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your group requires. Oceanfront Margate condo with full access to all resort amenities!! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is commonly available on booking pages. If they are not listed, email or call the property manager before booking your rental. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds. You will need to work out what is suitable for your vacation group.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly property. Get information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
- Are you visiting for a specific attraction? Try a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
Some things to know before you go:
- Get the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property. We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are gone, just like you would at home.
- Upon check-in, make note of any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the host. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are an excellent resource to find the best local scenic spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Upon check-out, take a walk-through to confirm you haven't leave anything behind. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a terrific time? Most rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
