How to get the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
Money saving strategies:
- Summertime is the most expensive season in Myrtle Beach. To get the best value, consider changing your family's Myrtle Beach vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer excellent weather, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked very early. Booking your vacation rental six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Property management companies frequently offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guide magazines contain money saving offers on local accommodations and attractions.
Narrow your rental Search:
- First and foremost, have your family select vacation dates and a budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Oceanfront newly updated condo at MB Resort Renaissance Tower has 3 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is normally available online. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property management company before you book the property. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds. You will need to establish what configuration is suitable for your group.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction or event? Use a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking
- Some rentals allow pets, and others don't. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
More considerations for your visit:
- Store the owner's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To make certain damages aren't linked to your stay, record any problem areas during arrival. Call the host immediately to report any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be useful.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor. Frequently, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Keep your rental home locked while you are gone! Don't let burglars spoil your vacation.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a excellent time? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your property and/or property manager was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
