Tips to get the perfect Myrtle Beach rental experience:
Get the most from your vacation rental budget:
- Summertime is high season in Myrtle Beach. Reserve your vacation home in Fall or Spring to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Property managers sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if discounts are available for your family.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, visitors guide magazines have deals for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Planning, selecting, and booking the perfectrental:
- First, have your group select vacation dates and a spending budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration your group needs. Oceanfront One Bedroom Suite at Paradise Resort! Unit 1408 has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, contact the host before reserving the vacation home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds.
- Visiting for a specific attraction? Try a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or costs may be applied to your invoice.
More considerations for your visit:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your smartphone.
- Note any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately send them to the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be valuable if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers bothering your life at home. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Keep your rental home locked while you are away! Don't let thieves spoil your holiday.
- Re-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items at check-out. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the host isn't available, take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Did your group have a excellent vacation? Most rental managers make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
