Our top Rental booking tips:
How to get the best value:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are reserved very early. Reserving your rental six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
- Summertime is high season in Myrtle Beach. To find the largest vacation home within budget, we recommend reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular Myrtle Beach attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season.
- Owners sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family.
- Property managers frequently offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Often, property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which often include special deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Make a plan and choose your prefect Myrtle Beach vacation home:
- Select a group lead, choose your vacation week, and choose a max budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Modern Escape Long Bay Dunes A1 has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is commonly available on booking pages. If not, reach out to the property manager before you book the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to establish what is optimal for your group.
- If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to find a property that allows animals. Make sure to ask for information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach beach you crave, look for properties that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
Some things to know before you go:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your phone.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, television set or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent many difficulties.
- Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are out, just like you would at home.
- During arrival, make note of any damages to the property and immediately contact the owner. Record all coorespondence.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers bothering your peaceful neighborhood. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and places you would've never otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your family have a terrific vacation? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
