Strategies to get the best vacation home experience:
Get the best value:
- Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer months are high season in Myrtle Beach. To book the most suitable rental home for your budget, we suggest booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at Myrtle Beach restaurants, tours, and activities.
- Some property management companies offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family.
- Booking websites frequently offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guide magazines contain money saving offers on nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.
How to choose the best rental:
- Choose a group leader, select your vacation dates, and select a max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. Oceanview Retreat : 1bd\/ba Condo Myrtle Beach has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, call the property manager before you reserve your rental. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Some rental properties allow pets, but others do not. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the property management company about pet restrictions before booking.
- Visiting for a single attraction? Try a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
More tips for your stay:
- Take a copy of the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental. We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents lots of difficulties.
- Lock your rental property while you are away! Don't let thieves ruin your vacation.
- At Check-in, make note of any issues with the property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers bothering your life at home. Use the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would've not otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Just prior to departing, complete a final walk-through to make sure you haven't leave anything behind. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever possible. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Did your group have a terrific stay? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your property and/or property manager was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
