Strategies to get the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
Finding your best deal:
- Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are high season in Myrtle Beach. Booking in the Spring or Fall is a great way to save money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Some hosts and property managers offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Booking websites often offer customers an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines which include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local companies, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Finding the best rental home in Myrtle Beach:
- Start by selecting your potential vacation weeks and a maximum budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Palms Resort Unit 1004 - Oceanfront! has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always accessible online. If you don't see them listed, email the host before you book the vacation home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- If your group is traveling with pets, filter your search for a property that allows animals. Request specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some property owners charge additional pet fees.
- Visiting for a single attraction? Try a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
Additional considerations:
- Put the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents quite a few difficulties.
- Lock your rental while you are away. Keep your property safe!
- To make sure damages are not linked to your family's stay, inspect for any problem areas upon check in. E-mail the property manager right away to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an incredible source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Re-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items on check-out day. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property a final time and scan for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever possible. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on great reviews to inspire more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will be thankful you shared your experience find their best vacation home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
