How to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Getting the most from your vacation rental budget:
- Summertime is the most expensive season in Myrtle Beach. To find the best value, consider changing your trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer great weather, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your vacationing group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Booking websites often offer guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Many property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which will include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Planning and picking the best Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Start by having your group commit to trip dates and a max budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Palms Resort Unit 1004 - Oceanfront! has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, contact the property manager before booking your rental. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach beach you crave, search for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking
- If your family is bringing pets, search for a rental that allows animals. Ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Some property managers charge additional pet fees.
Tips for a great stay:
- Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your . We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Document any issues with the property during check in, and immediately contact the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are very helpful if a dispute is filed.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Be respectful. Often times, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Keep the property locked while you're gone! Don't let burglars spoil your holiday.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, remember to take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your family have a wonderful vacation? Many rental websites make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
