Strategies to get the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:

How to get the best rental value:

  • In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked very early. Reserving your vacation rental up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
  • Summertime is high season in Myrtle Beach. Booking a rental in Fall or Spring is an excellent way to save on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
  • Property management companies frequently offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
  • Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines which include special offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Planning and choosing the bestrental:

  • Choose a group leader, choose your dates, and select a max budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. 10th floor partial ocean view condo with private W\/D and central AC has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always accessible online. If not, email or call the host before booking the rental. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to work out what is best for your family.
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or costs could be applied to your contract.
  • Visiting for a single event? Try a map search to find nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. .

Tips for a wonderful stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your phone.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, intercom or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call prevents many concerns.
  • Lock your vacation home while you are out. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • During check-in, record any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an excellent source for finding the best local spots.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • When it's time to leave, complete a final walk-through to make sure you didn't leave anything behind. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the property a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on good ratings to drive new bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will will be grateful for your feedback find their best vacation home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
