How to find the best vacation home experience:
Sticking to your rental budget:
- The earlier you can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved very early. Booking your vacation property up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
- Summer months are the most expensive season in Myrtle Beach. Reserve your Myrtle Beach vacation in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months.
- Some property management companies offer discounts for veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Property managers frequently offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guide magazines have discounts for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Planning and choosing the perfectvacation home:
- First, have your group select date ranges and a max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Penthouse at the Beach, Beach, Beach! Stunning ocean views & king sized bed! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is often accessible online. If they are not listed, contact the property manager before you reserve the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds. You will need to work out what bed configuration is right for your group.
- If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Are you looking for unique amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
Additional considerations:
- Put the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents many issues.
- Lock your rental property while you are gone! Don't let thieves ruin your family vacation.
- To make sure damages aren't linked to your visit, note any problem areas when you arrive. Call the rental manager immediately to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be useful.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are an incredible source for finding the best local scenic spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- At departure, complete a walk-through to make sure you did not forget any personal items. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on great ratings to propel future bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
