Getting the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:

Sticking to your rental budget:

  • Summertime is the most expensive season in coastal SC. To get the best value, consider shifting your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer warm temperatures, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some owners offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your family.
  • Property managers frequently offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
  • Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, visitors guides have offers and deals for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Planning and picking your prefectvacation home:

  • Start by selecting trip dates and a spending budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Penthouse at the Beach, Beach, Beach! Stunning ocean views & king sized bed! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is usually available on booking websites. If they are not listed, email or call the property manager before you reserve your rental. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds.
  • Is your group looking for particular amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • Some rentals allow pets, and others do not. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask your host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.

Have a wonderful stay:

  • Store the owner's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Document any issues with the property during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be valuable if a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, television set or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent lots of issues.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are an excellent source for finding the best local beaches.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are out, just like you would back home.
  • Just prior to departing, complete a walk-through to confirm you have not forget anything. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and scan for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take photos of the rental to record its condition.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent feedback to propel future bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your review find their best vacation home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
