Tips to get the perfect vacation rental experience:
Getting the best value:
- The earlier you can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are reserved early. Booking your vacation rental up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Myrtle Beach area. Book your Myrtle Beach rental home in Fall or Spring months to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Some hosts offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Property managers usually offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, visitors guides contain money saving offers on nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.
How to choose and book a perfect Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Select vacation dates and max budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. Penthouse at the Beach, Beach, Beach! Stunning ocean views & king sized bed! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always available online. If they are not listed, reach out to the property owner before you reserve the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks.
- If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to find a rental that allows animals. Request details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction? Try a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. .
More considerations for your visit:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the instructions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, elevator or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent a lot of difficulties.
- Lock your vacation home while you are out. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- Upon check-in, make note of any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Be respectful. Often times, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the property to confirm you've collected all personal belongings. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and look for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, remember to take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
- Did you have a great stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your property and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
