Finding the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:

How to get the best rental value:

  • Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Myrtle Beach. To find the best value, shift your vacation week to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer warmer weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer discounts for veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Property management companies frequently offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guides have deals for nearby shops and restaurants.

How to select the perfect rental home in the Myrtle Beach area:

  • Choose your dates and maximum budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Perfect Vacation walk to the beach (12) has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is often accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, email or call the property manager before you book your rental. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to determine what configuration is best for your vacation.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and some do not. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the owner about your furry family members before booking.
  • If there's a particular Myrtle Beach destination you are enamored with, look for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.

Additional considerations:

  • We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, elevator or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call prevents a lot of issues.
  • Lock your vacation home while you are out and about. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • Upon check-in, note any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors bothering your peace. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and places you would have never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all personal belongings. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the rental a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on good ratings to inspire more reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
