Tips and Tricks to get the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:

Getting the most from your rental budget:

  • Summertime is the most expensive season in Myrtle Beach. Booking a rental in Fall or Spring months is a good way to save on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation rental up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer discounts for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
  • Property managers often offer renters an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Often, property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines that include special offers, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Planning, picking, and booking the rightrental home:

  • Select a designated group leader, select your trip dates, and choose a budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Perfect Vacation walk to the beach (5) has 3 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email the property manager before you book your home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to determine what is suitable for your family.
  • Are you visiting for a single attraction? Use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. .
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or may be applied to your agreement.

Additional considerations:

  • Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your .
  • To make sure damages are not linked to your visit, make a record of any problem areas during arrival. Get in touch with the rental manager right away to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent quite a few difficulties.
  • Respect your neighbors. Frequently, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • Just before checking out, complete a walk-through to confirm you didn't forget anything. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental a final time and scan for damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a fantastic time? Most rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
