Tips and Tricks for getting the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:

Getting the most from your rental home budget:

  • Summertime is the most expensive season along the coast of SC. Book your rental property in Spring or Fall to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your group qualifies for a discount.
  • Property management companies often offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines which include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Filter your rental search:

  • Start by choosing your trip dates and a budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Perfect Vacation walk to the beach (5) has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is usually accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, email the property owner before you book the property. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds. You will need to work out what bed configuration is suitable for your trip.
  • If there's an individual Myrtle Beach attraction you crave, browse homes that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. .
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and some do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the property management company about your furry family members before booking.

During your stay:

  • Be sure you get the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental.
  • To make sure damages aren't linked to your stay, record any problem areas during arrival. Speak to the rental manager immediately to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents many difficulties.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Often, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home when you are away, just like you would at home.
  • Upon check-out, complete a walk-through to make sure you haven't forget any personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the property one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, take video of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a fantastic vacation? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
