Strategies to get the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
Finding your perfect rental home:
- Summertime is high season in Myrtle Beach. Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is our favorite way to save money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- The earlier you can book, the better your selection will be. The best properties are booked early. Reserving your rental home up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
- Some hosts offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which often include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Narrow your Search:
- Select a designated group leader, select your vacation dates, and select a budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Ocean Lakes Site 1761 Covered front porch w\/ TV! Short walk to Southgate in OL! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is often available online. If they are not listed, reach out to the property owner before reserving the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches. You will need to work out what configuration is best for your vacation group.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach attraction you long to visit, look for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking.
- Some rentals allow pets, but some do not. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the property manager about pet restrictions before booking.
Tips for your stay:
- Add the host's contact info to your smartphone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- To make sure that damages are not attributed to your stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon your arrival. Contact the rental manager immediately to record any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an incredible source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can frequently help. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are gone, just like you would at home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your family have a excellent stay? Most rental managers make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or host was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
