Tricks and tips for getting the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
Getting the most from your rental home budget:
- Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer is the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the best vacation home within your budget, we highly recommend booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities.
- Owners sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your family.
- Property managers often offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guides have deals for local accommodations and attractions.
Selecting the perfect rental home in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Choose vacation week and budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Outstanding Ocean View - January 2025 Available!! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is generally available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, call the host before you reserve the home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly vacation rental. Request information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Be aware that some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
- Are you visiting for a specific attraction or event? If so, use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
More tips for your stay:
- Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your .
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, elevator or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents quite a few problems.
- Keep the property locked while you're out! Don't let crooks ruin your trip.
- To make certain damages are not attributed to your stay, inspect the property for any problem areas upon check in. message the host immediately to record any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be useful.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often times, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on great feedback to compel more reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your experience find their best vacation home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
