Myrtle Beach vacation rental home tips:
When to book & When to go:
- To find the best rental home within your budget, we highly recommend booking in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- The earlier your group can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation property up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your group qualifies for a discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guide magazines contain coupons for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Planning and picking the bestrental:
- Start by selecting vacation dates and a max budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Pristine condo at World Tour Golf Resort. Short drive to the beach with pool! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is usually accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, email the property manager before you book the rental. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to determine what configuration is optimal for your group.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach attraction you simply love, search for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking.
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Additional pet fees or charges might be applied to your contract.
More tips for your stay:
- Be sure you get the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your . Store the host's information in your smartphone.
- Upon arrival, note any issues with the property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a great source for finding the best local beaches.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are gone, just like you would at home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all personal items. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, remember to take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on great ratings to compel future reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
