Tips and Tricks to get the perfect Myrtle Beach rental experience:
When to visit & When to reserve a rental home:
- Booking your vacation rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is an excellent way to save money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes.
- Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Some property managers offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Property management companies usually offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which will include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Make a plan and pick yourvacation home:
- Start by choosing your trip dates and a max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Beautiful Two-Bedroom Resort with Amazing Views! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rental home search.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally available online. If not, email or call the property management company before you reserve the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to determine which bed configuration is optimal for your vacation.
- Looking for unique amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental home.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or might be applied to your agreement.
During your stay:
- Be sure you get the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your .
- Make a record of any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately contact the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are helpful if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, intercom or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents many concerns.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often an incredible resource to find the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Lock your rental property while you are gone! Don't let crooks ruin your trip.
- Re-check the property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your family have a wonderful time? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
