Our top Myrtle Beach rental booking tips and tricks:
Cost saving strategies:
- To get the best value, shift your group's trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer pleasant temperatures, , and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are reserved very early. Reserving your rental up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer special rates for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer customers an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which will include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Selecting and booking a perfect Myrtle Beach rental:
- Select a group lead, choose your vacation dates, and choose a spending budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Private Enclosed Patio with Pool Views, 1st Flr, near shopping and amusements has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is normally available online. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property owner before you book your home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds.
- Are you looking for specific amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly vacation rental. Get specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
During your stay:
- Add the property manager's phone number to your phone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Record any damages to the property during check in, and immediately send them to the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be beneficial if damages are assessed.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an incredible resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Lock your rental home while you are out. Protect your property!
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected everything. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a excellent time? Most rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
