Tips and Tricks to get the very best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
Getting the most from your vacation rental budget:
- The sooner you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved early. Reserving your rental property six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
- Summertime is high season in Myrtle Beach. Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation home in the Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your family qualifies for a special rate.
- Property managers usually offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
- Many rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which often include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Filter your rental search:
- First, have your family agree to date ranges and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Private Enclosed Patio with Pool Views, 1st Flr, near shopping and amusements has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is almost always available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property owner before you book the rental. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches. You will need to determine what configuration is suitable for your group.
- Some rentals allow pets, and some don't. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask your host about pet restrictions before booking.
- Visiting for a single event or attraction? If so, use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
Considerations for your stay:
- Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your . We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are gone, just like you would back home.
- To make certain damages are not linked to your stay, make note of any problem areas during check in. Make contact with the rental manager right away to record your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Respect your neighbors. Frequently, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Just before checking out, take a walk-through to confirm you have not leave anything behind. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a wonderful time? Most rental websites make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property manager was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
