Tricks and tips to get the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
How to get the best rental value:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Myrtle Beach. Booking your vacation home in the Fall or Spring is a great way to save on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season.
- Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your group qualifies for a special rate.
- Property managers frequently offer guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines which will include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Planning and choosing the rightvacation home:
- Start by having your family agree to dates and a spending budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Quite warm location near golfing grounds and intercoastal waters and beaches. has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is commonly accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property manager before you book your rental. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches. You'll need to establish what is suitable for your family.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach beach you long to visit, look for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.
- If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly property. Ask for information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
Have a wonderful stay:
- Add the owner's contact info to your smartphone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Upon check-in, make note of any issues with the property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents quite a few difficulties.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors disrupting your peaceful neighborhood. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and places you would have never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are away, just like you would at home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to confirm you've collected everything. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on good feedback to drive new reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
