Tips to get the perfect Myrtle Beach rental experience:
Sticking to your budget:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are reserved very early. Reserving your rental home six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
- Summertime is high season in Myrtle Beach. Reserve your Myrtle Beach vacation home in Fall or Spring months to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Property managers sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your group.
- Booking websites often offer renters an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
- Look for your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guides contain deals for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.
How to select the best vacation rental in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Choose your dates and spending budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Recently Renovated Condo 1\/2 A Mile From The Beach + Free Attraction Tickets! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly accessible on booking pages. If not, email the property owner before you reserve the home. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- If your family is bringing pets, you will need a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for details on breed, size, and type requirements. Note that some property managers charge additional pet fees.
- Visiting for a single event or attraction? Try a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental.
Considerations for your stay:
- Store the owner's contact information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, elevator or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent quite a few issues.
- Lock your vacation home while you're away. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- Note any damages to the property at check in, and immediately send them to the host. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be useful if a dispute arises.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often an incredible resource to find the best local scenic spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Double-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a terrific time? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your property and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
