Tips and Tricks to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
Finding the best value:
- Summer months are the most expensive season along the coast of SC. Reserving a rental home in Fall or Spring months is our favorite way to save money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes.
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Some property managers offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
- Property management companies frequently offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, visitors guide magazines have deals for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.
How to select the perfect vacation rental:
- Select your vacation dates and max budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Recently Renovated Condo 1\/2 A Mile From The Beach + Free Attraction Tickets! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is regularly available on booking websites. Otherwise, email or call the host before you book the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach destination you long to visit, look for homes that are either near by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- Some rentals allow pets, but others don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the owner about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
Considerations for your stay:
- Be sure you get the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property. Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
- To make certain damages aren't attributed to your stay, make note of any problem areas during check in. Contact the host right away to relay any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be useful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent lots of concerns.
- Respect your neighbors. Often times, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Lock your rental property while you're out! Don't let crooks spoil your vacation.
- Upon check-out, take a final walk-through to make sure you have not forget any personal items. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager is not available, take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a terrific vacation? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
