Myrtle Beach rental home booking tips:
When to visit Myrtle Beach & When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Summer is high season in Myrtle Beach. Booking in Spring or Fall is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guide magazines contain offers and deals for local shops and restaurants.
Selecting and booking the bestrental home:
- Choose vacation dates and max budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Newly Renovated Unit in The Caribbean! Make lasting memories! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is often available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email the property owner before booking the rental. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to establish what bed configuration is optimal for your vacation family.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction or event? If so, use a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking
- Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional pet fees or could be applied to your contract.
More tips for your stay:
- Add the property manager's contact info to your smartphone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- To ensure that no damages are linked to your family's visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon check in. Make contact with the rental manager immediately to document any issues. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent quite a few concerns.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers bothering your peaceful home life. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and places you would have never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Lock your rental property while you are out! Don't let crooks ruin your holiday.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on good ratings to compel new bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
