Strategies to get the optimal Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home & When to go:
- Summertime is high season in Myrtle Beach. Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation home in the Spring or Fall is our best tip for saving money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months.
- The earlier your group can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked early. Reserving your vacation home 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
- Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your family.
- Property management companies typically offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
- Many rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which often include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- Choose a group leader, select your vacation week, and choose a maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Relaxing 2 bedroom, 2 bath, Oceanside Condo, which is 80 steps from the Beach has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is regularly accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, call the host before you reserve the home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to determine what is suitable for your trip.
- Is your group looking for specific amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find your ideal rental home.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking.
- Some properties allow pets, and some do not. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable breeds and types before booking.
More tips for your stay:
- Get the owner's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property.
- Upon arrival, note any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents quite a few difficulties.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors disrupting your peace and quiet. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and places you would've never otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are out, just like you would back home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all personal items. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a fantastic vacation? Many rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
