Tips and Tricks for getting the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:

Cost saving strategies:

  • Summer time is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Reserve your rental home in the Spring or Fall to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
  • The earlier you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked very early. Booking your vacation property up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Booking websites frequently offer renters an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
  • Many property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines which include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Select a group lead, select your trip dates, and choose a spending budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Relaxing 2 bedroom, 2 bath, Oceanside Condo, which is 80 steps from the Beach has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, contact the property manager before booking the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to establish what is best for your vacation.
  • Visiting for a specific attraction? Use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
  • Some rentals allow pets, but some do not. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the host about allowable breeds and types before booking.

Additional considerations:

  • Be sure you get the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property. Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
  • To make certain that damages are not attributed to your stay, make note of any problem areas upon check in. text the property manager right away to record your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors bothering your quiet neighborhood. Use the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the property to confirm you've collected everything. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your group have a wonderful time? Most rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or host was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
