Tricks and tips to get the best rental experience:
Sticking to a spending plan:
- June, July, and August are high season in Myrtle Beach. Book your rental home in Fall or Spring months to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your family qualifies for a price reduction.
- Booking websites often offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guides contain offers and deals for local tours and attractions.
Selecting and booking a perfect Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Choose your vacation dates and spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Relaxing 2BR Unit with Pool View has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is normally accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, contact the host before reserving the home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to establish which bed configuration is optimal for your group.
- Visiting for a single attraction or event? Try a map search to find nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. .
- Some properties allow pets, but some don't. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the property manager about your furry family members before booking.
Advice for a terrific stay:
- Take a copy of the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental.
- During check-in, document any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent lots of problems.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be an excellent source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are gone, just like you would at home.
- Just prior to departing, take a final walk-through to confirm you didn't forget any personal items. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a excellent time? Many rental websites make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
