Our top Myrtle Beach vacation rental home tips:

Finding your perfect rental home:

  • The sooner you can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked early. Booking your rental property six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
  • Summer time is high season in Myrtle Beach. To get the best value, consider shifting your family's Myrtle Beach vacation week to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer great temperatures, , and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your vacationing group qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Booking websites frequently offer renters an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
  • Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, travel guides have discounts for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.

How to pick the perfect rental home in the Myrtle Beach area:

  • Select a designated group leader, select your dates, and choose a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. Winter Rates! Relaxing 2BR Unit with Pool View has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is regularly accessible online. If they are not listed, call the property management company before you reserve your home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches. You will need to work out what configuration is right for your family.
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or costs might be applied to your agreement.
  • Visiting for a specific event or attraction? Use a map search to find nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .

Additional considerations:

  • Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Lock your rental home while you are away. Keep your property safe!
  • To make certain damages aren't attributed to your family's stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon check in. Speak to the rental manager right away to relay any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Be respectful. Often times, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can often help. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all personal items. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did you have a great vacation? Many rental management companies make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
