Myrtle Beach vacation rental booking tips:
Sticking to a spending budget:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved very early. Reserving your rental property up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
- Summer is the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. To book the best rental within your budget, we strongly suggest booking in the Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at Myrtle Beach restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Property management companies usually offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guide magazines contain discounts for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Selecting and booking your prefect Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Begin by choosing your potential vacation weeks and a spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. \"Brighton Your View\" - Beautiful Direct Oceanfront Corner Unit at Brighton Tower has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is normally available on booking websites. If not, email or call the property management company before booking the property. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach beach you are enamored with, keep an eye out for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.
Some things to know before you go:
- Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your rental home while you are out and about. Keep your property safe!
- To make certain damages aren't attributed to your stay, make note of any problem areas during check in. Contact the property manager right away to report any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be useful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors bothering your home life. Practice the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Double-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings on check-out day. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the property a final time and scan for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager is not available, take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a wonderful time? Most rental managers make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
