Tricks and tips to get the best Myrtle Beach rental experience:
When to book & When to go:
- Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Book your Myrtle Beach vacation home in Fall or Spring months to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guides contain offers and deals for local tours and attractions.
How to pick the best rental in Myrtle Beach:
- Start by selecting your a vacation week and a spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your group requires. GOING COASTAL in Ocean Lakes, 2 bdr 2 bath has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is generally accessible online. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property manager before you book the rental. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Some rental properties allow pets, and some do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the property manager about pets before booking.
- Visiting for a specific event or attraction? Try a map search to find nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
Considerations for your stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent many concerns.
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are away, just like you would back home.
- Note any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately send them to the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be valuable if a dispute arises.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Often, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Re-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at departure. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and look for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, remember to take photos of the rental to record its condition.
- Leave feedback! Property owners rely on good ratings to stimulate future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
