Tips to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
Find your perfect rental home:
- The sooner you can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation home six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal SC. Reserving a rental home in the Fall or Spring is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
- Booking websites often offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guide magazines have offers and deals for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.
How to pick the best vacation rental in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Begin by selecting trip dates and a budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Jellyfish 2 BR Oceanfront Condo with Pool has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.

- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Additional pet fees or charges could be applied to your contract.

Have a great stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Add a note with the directions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, stereo or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent quite a few difficulties.
- Lock your rental property while you are gone! Don't let crooks ruin your vacation.
- To make certain no damages are linked to your family's visit, record any problem areas when you arrive. Get in touch with the host immediately to record any issues. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be useful.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a fantastic source for finding the best local spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- On check-out day, take a walk-through to confirm you have not forget anything. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent reviews to drive more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
