Vacation rental booking tips and tricks:

Find your best deal:

  • June, July, and August are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is our best tip for saving money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can book, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved early. Booking your rental home up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
  • Some hosts offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your group.
  • Booking websites frequently offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which often include special offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Planning and picking a perfect Myrtle Beach rental home:

  • Begin by selecting a vacation week and a max budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration you need. Relaxing Studio Apt - Central MB has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is normally available on booking pages. If not, reach out to the property owner before you book the property. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • Are you looking for special amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental
  • Some properties allow pets, but others don't. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the property management company about pet restrictions before booking.

During your stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your smartphone.
  • To ensure that no damages are linked to your family's stay, make a record of any problem areas during check in. text the rental manager right away to relay your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, stereo or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents lots of concerns.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors bothering your life at home. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and attractions you would have never otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home while you are out, just like you would at home.
  • Double-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property a final time and look for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Leave a review! Property managers rely on great feedback to compel more reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
