Tips to get the very best vacation property experience:
Getting the most from your rental home budget:
- Summer months are the most expensive season in Myrtle Beach. Book your Myrtle Beach vacation in Fall or Spring months to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
- The earlier your group can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are reserved early. Booking your rental home up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
- Some property management companies offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family.
- Booking websites frequently offer renters an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Often, property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
How to select the best vacation rental:
- Choose a group leader, select your dates, and choose a maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Coastal Serenity Beckons King Bed on the 9th Flr has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally available on booking pages. If not, email or call the property management company before reserving the rental. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to work out what configuration is best for your family.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach destination you simply love, browse properties that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Remember to confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental
- If your family is bringing pets, you will need a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Note that some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
More tips for your stay:
- Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property.
- Record any issues with the property at check in, and immediately contact the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be helpful if damages are assessed.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Be respectful. Often, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Lock your rental property while you're out! Don't let thieves ruin your family vacation.
- Re-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a terrific vacation? Many rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property manager was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
