Myrtle Beach rental property booking tips:
Get the most from your rental home budget:
- To find the largest vacation home within budget, we strongly suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities.
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Some hosts offer special rates for veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
- Property managers often offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, visitor guides have deals for local accommodations and attractions.
How to pick the best rental in Myrtle Beach:
- Start by selecting the best vacation week and a budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. Coastal Serenity Beckons King Bed on the 9th Flr has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always available on booking pages. Otherwise, call the property owner before you reserve the rental. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Visiting for a specific attraction or event? Try a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly property. Request details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Often, property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
During your stay:
- Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental. Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To make certain damages are not linked to your visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon check in. Make contact with the property manager right away to relay any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, television set or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent lots of issues.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a fantastic source for finding the best local spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Keep the property locked while you're away! Don't let crooks spoil your holiday.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all personal items. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on good ratings to stimulate more reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will appreciate that you share your feedback find their best rental home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
