Rental property booking tips and tricks:
Find your best deal:
- Book your Myrtle Beach vacation home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
- Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Booking websites typically offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guide magazines have offers and deals for local accommodations and attractions.
Use filters to narrow your search:
- Select vacation dates and max budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Free State Park Pass 1350 SF Free Parking has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is commonly available on booking pages. Otherwise, email or call the property manager before booking the vacation home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to establish what is best for your vacation group.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach beach you long to visit, search for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, search for a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for information on breed, size, and type requirements. Some property owners charge additional pet fees.
Additional considerations:
- Put the owner's contact information in your smartphone.
- At Check-in, document any issues with the property and immediately alert the host. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Lock your rental while you're away. Protect your property!
- Re-check the property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your family have a terrific time? Most rental websites make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property manager was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
