How to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
Finding the best rental value:
- To find the best rental within budget, we strongly suggest booking in the Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular Myrtle Beach attractions. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer.
- Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your family qualifies for a discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer renters an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines which often include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Selecting the perfect rental home in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Start by choosing your vacation dates and a budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Remodeled Family Friendly Condo - Steps to the Beach! Close to Attractions! has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is commonly available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property manager before you book the home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach beach you are crazy about, search for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking
- If your group is vacationing with pets, search for a pet-friendly rental. Request details on breed, size, and type requirements. Some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
Have a great stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your smartphone.
- To make certain damages are not attributed to your visit, make note of any problem areas upon check in. Make contact with the rental manager immediately to relay your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors disrupting your home life. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and places you would've never otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Lock your rental home while you're away. Protect your property!
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all belongings. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, remember to take pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Leave feedback! Property owners rely on great ratings to propel future reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
