How to find the best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
Find your perfect rental home:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are reserved early. Booking your rental property six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Myrtle Beach area. Book your vacation in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your family qualifies for a special rate.
- Booking websites typically offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides that include special offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Make a plan and choose your prefect Myrtle Beach rental:
- Begin by choosing vacation dates and a max budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Remodeled Family Friendly Condo - Steps to the Beach! Close to Attractions! has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often available online. If they are not listed, call the property owner before you reserve the property. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds. You will need to establish what bed configuration is best for your vacation family.
- Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or costs may be applied to your agreement.
- Does your family require particular amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
Tips for a smooth stay:
- Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home. We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent quite a few concerns.
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are away, just like you would back home.
- To make sure no damages are attributed to your family's stay, inspect for any problem areas when you arrive. Get in touch with the property manager right away to record your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors bothering your home life. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and attractions you would have never otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- At departure, take a final walk-through to make sure you haven't forget anything. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the rental a final time and look for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent feedback to propel new bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
