Tips and Tricks to get the very best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
Find your perfect rental:
- Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- To find the most suitable rental for your budget, we strongly suggest reserving in Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular attractions and restaurants.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Booking websites usually offer customers an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Many management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides that include special deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Choosing the best rental home:
- Choose a group leader, choose your dates, and select a spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Renovated Beachside Beauty: 2BR Resort View Escape has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is regularly available on booking pages. If not, contact the host before booking the property. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you must book a pet-friendly property. Get details on breed, size, and type requirements. Note that some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Visiting for a single attraction? Try a map search to find nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. .
During your stay:
- Store the owner's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent quite a few concerns.
- Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are gone, just like you would back home.
- Note any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately send them to the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are valuable if a dispute arises.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a great resource to find the best local beaches.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected everything. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the rental a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your group have a fantastic time? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
