How to book the best vacation rental experience:
When to visit & When to book:
- Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- To get the best value, try shifting your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer warmer weather, , and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your group qualifies for a special rate.
- Property management companies often offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
- Often, property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which include special offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- Choose your dates and max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Priceless Paradise has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, call the property management company before you reserve the home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional fees or charges might be applied to your agreement.
- Does your family require unique amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking
More tips for your stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents lots of concerns.
- Lock your rental property while you are out! Don't let burglars spoil your holiday.
- During arrival, record any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Frequently, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Upon check-out, complete a walk-through to make sure you haven't leave anything behind. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Did you have a great stay? Most rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
