Strategies to get the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
Finding the best rental value:
- Book your Myrtle Beach vacation home in the Spring or Fall to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
- The sooner your group can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation home 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your family qualifies for a special rate.
- Property management companies usually offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guide magazines have coupons for local tours and attractions.
Choosing and booking your prefectvacation home:
- Choose a group leader, choose your vacation week, and select a max budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration you need. Ocean Forest Villas Unit D308 - Oceanfront has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is generally available on booking websites. If not, contact the property management company before reserving the rental. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to establish what is optimal for your family.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach destination you love, search for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental
- Some properties allow pets, but some do not. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the owner about your furry family members before booking.
More tips for your stay:
- Be sure you get the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property. Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
- To make certain that damages are not linked to your visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas during arrival. Speak to the rental manager immediately to report your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, television set or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent quite a few problems.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a fantastic source for finding the best local scenic spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Keep the property locked while you are away! Don't let thieves spoil your vacation.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all of your things. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the property a final time and scan for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the host is not available, take photos of the rental to record its condition.
- Leave a review! Hosts rely on good reviews to propel more bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
