How to book the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
When to visit Myrtle Beach & When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summertime is the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the best rental within budget, we highly recommend reserving in Fall or Spring months. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite Myrtle Beach restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Property management companies sometimes offer special rates for veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family.
- Booking websites usually offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Often, management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides which will include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Finding the best rental home in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Select your vacation week and spending budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration your group requires. 2 bedroom 2 bathroom fantastic getaway with views of ocean from LR & balcony. has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is almost always accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, reach out to the host before you reserve the property. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds. You will need to determine what configuration is right for your family.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you will need a property that allows animals. Ask for specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Usually, property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach attraction you simply love, keep an eye out for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
More considerations:
- Get the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, intercom or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent lots of problems.
- Keep the property locked while you are out! Don't let crooks spoil your trip.
- Make a record of any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be very helpful if a dispute is filed.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers disrupting your peaceful home. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would have not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Re-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a terrific stay? Many rental websites make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your property and/or property manager was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
