How to get the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:

When to go & When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home:

  • Summer months are the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. To book the largest vacation home within budget, we recommend booking in the Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at popular Myrtle Beach attractions and restaurants. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are booked very early. Booking your rental home six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Booking websites often offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
  • Often, rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides which often include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Filter your search:

  • Choose a group leader, select your dates, and select a max budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. 2 bedroom 2 bathroom fantastic getaway with views of ocean from LR & balcony. has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually available on booking websites. If they are not listed, call the property owner before reserving the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • Are you visiting for a specific attraction or event? If so, use a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental.
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly property. Request specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, hosts charge pet deposits and fees.

Additional considerations:

  • Be sure you get the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property.
  • Make a record of any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be very helpful if there is a dispute.
  • Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a fantastic resource to find the best local beaches.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home when you are out, just like you would back home.
  • Re-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at departure. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your group have a fantastic stay? Most rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property manager was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
