Strategies to get the perfect vacation home experience:

Finding your best deal:

  • The sooner you can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are booked early. Reserving your rental property 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
  • Reserving a rental home in the Spring or Fall is a great way to save on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Booking websites usually offer guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guides contain coupons for local tours and attractions.

How to pick the perfect vacation home:

  • Select a group lead, select your trip dates, and choose a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. 2 bedroom 2 bathroom fantastic getaway with views of ocean from LR & balcony. has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, email or call the host before reserving your home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to work out what bed configuration is optimal for your vacation group.
  • Some rentals allow pets, and some don't. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
  • If there's a specific Myrtle Beach destination you are crazy about, browse homes that are either near by, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental

Considerations for your stay:

  • Get the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home. We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of problems.
  • Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • Upon check-in, make note of any damages to the property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers disrupting your quiet neighborhood. Apply the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can often help. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the host whenever possible. If the manager is not available, take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a fantastic stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
