Tips to get the best vacation rental experience:
How to get the best rental value:
- Summertime is high season in Myrtle Beach. Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation rental in Fall or Spring is our best tip for saving money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are booked very early. Booking your rental home 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your family qualifies for a special rate.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Often, property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which will include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Planning and choosing your Myrtle Beach rental:
- First, have your group commit to vacation dates and a max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. SANDS BEACH 821, 2BR OCEANFRONT, King Bed, Electric Recliners, Fantastic Views has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually available online. Otherwise, email or call the property management company before you reserve your rental. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach attraction you simply love, keep an eye out for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- Some rental properties allow pets, but some do not. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the property management company about your furry family members before booking.
Advice for your stay:
- Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home. We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Note any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are valuable if a dispute arises.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often times, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are gone, just like you would back home.
- Just prior to departing, complete a walk-through to make sure you haven't forget anything. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a wonderful stay? Most rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your property and/or property management company was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
