Rental home booking tips and tricks:
Money saving strategies:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are booked very early. Reserving your vacation rental 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
- Reserve your rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property managers often offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guides contain money saving offers on local accommodations and attractions.
Make a plan and choose your prefectvacation home:
- Select a group leader, choose your vacation week, and select a max budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. SeaGlass Tower - 1 Bedroom Deluxe - City View has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, email the host before you book the vacation property. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to establish what is right for your group.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional pet fees or costs applied to your invoice.
- Visiting for a single event? If so, use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.
Additional considerations:
- Add the owner's contact information to your smartphone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Keep the property locked while you are gone! Don't let crooks spoil your holiday.
- Upon check-in, record any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a fantastic source for finding the best local attractions.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Double-check the property to confirm that you've packed all belongings on check-out day. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a wonderful vacation? Many rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
