Our top Myrtle Beach rental property booking tips and tricks:
Cost saving strategies:
- Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the best value, try changing your vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer warmer weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your family qualifies for a special rate.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer renters an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides which often include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
How to pick the best rental in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Select a designated group leader, select your vacation week, and choose a budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. SeaGlass Tower™ - 1 Bedroom Standard - Limited View has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually available on booking websites. If they are not listed, call the property management company before booking the property. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to work out what configuration is best for your vacation.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Pet fees or charges might be applied to your contract.
- Visiting for a single event? If so, use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.
More considerations for your visit:
- Get the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are away, just like you would at home.
- To make sure damages aren't linked to your stay, make note of any problem areas upon your arrival. E-mail the host immediately to document any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a great source for finding the best local scenic spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Double-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on great feedback to inspire future bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
