Tips for getting the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
Finding your perfect rental home:
- Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Myrtle Beach area. Book your Myrtle Beach vacation in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Property managers typically offer customers an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guide magazines contain offers and deals for local accommodations, tours and attractions.
Filter your search:
- First, have your group decide on dates and a budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration you need. 635 Carolinian Resort · Seas the Day has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rental home search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, contact the property management company before you reserve the vacation property. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Some rentals allow pets, but some do not. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask your host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction? If so, use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
Know before you go:
- Be sure you get the owner's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your . Put the manager's information in your smartphone.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your rental property while you are out! Don't let burglars ruin your family vacation.
- To make sure damages are not linked to your family's visit, make a record of any problem areas upon your arrival. E-mail the property manager immediately to report any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be useful.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be an excellent source for finding the best local attractions.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- At departure, complete a final walk-through to confirm you didn't forget any personal items. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a fantastic vacation? Many rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or host was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
