Our top Rental property booking tips:
Getting the most from your rental budget:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked very early. Reserving your vacation property six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal SC. Booking your vacation rental in the Spring or Fall is a great way to save on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
- Some hosts offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your group.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guides have money saving offers on nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Selecting and booking a perfectvacation home:
- Choose a group leader, select your vacation dates, and choose a spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Winter Deals! Seaside Oasis, Oceanfront w\/ Balcony has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is often accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, email the property management company before reserving the home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you must book a property that allows animals. Request information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Be aware that some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Is your group looking for unique amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental
More tips for your visit:
- Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are out, just like you would back home.
- To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your family's stay, note any problem areas upon your arrival. text the host immediately to document any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors disrupting your peace and quiet. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Double-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all belongings at departure. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on great feedback to propel more bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your review find their best vacation home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
