Tips for getting the best vacation home experience:
Sticking to your spending plan:
- Summer months are the most expensive season in Myrtle Beach. To get the best rental home within your budget, we strongly suggest reserving in Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at Myrtle Beach restaurants, tours, and activities.
- Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guide magazines have deals for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Use filters to narrow your search:
- Select dates and max budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. SeaWatch Resort #1105 -2 Master Suites w\/ Balconies-6 Nights Option July 13th has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often available on booking websites. Otherwise, contact the property management company before booking the vacation home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to work out which bed configuration is optimal for your trip.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach beach you long to visit, look for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or may be applied to your agreement.
More tips for your stay:
- Get the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental.
- To make certain that no damages are attributed to your family's visit, record any problem areas upon your arrival. Contact the property manager right away to document any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers disrupting your peace. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would've not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Lock your vacation home while you are away. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all personal belongings. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental a final time and scan for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take photos of the property to record its condition.
- Did you have a great vacation? Many rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your property and/or property management company was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
