Tips and Tricks to get the perfect vacation rental experience:
Find your best deal:
- To find the best value, try changing your family's Myrtle Beach trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer pleasant weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer special rates for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group.
- Property management companies frequently offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, visitors guide magazines have coupons for local accommodations, tours and attractions.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Begin by selecting potential vacation weeks and a max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Serenity by the Sea: 3 BR OF Condo 7th Floor has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, call the property management company before booking the rental. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach beach you are crazy about, browse rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
- If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly rental. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
More tips for your visit:
- Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home.
- Record any issues with the rental during check in, and immediately send them to the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be helpful if damages are assessed.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors bothering your peace and quiet. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Keep your rental home locked while you are gone! Don't let burglars spoil your family vacation.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all personal belongings. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and scan for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever possible. If the manager is not available, remember to take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a wonderful vacation? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property manager was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
