Tips and Tricks to get the optimal Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
Finding your perfect rental:
- Booking your vacation rental in the Fall or Spring is our best tip for saving money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable homes.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can book, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are reserved very early. Reserving your rental property up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
- Property managers sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your group.
- Booking websites frequently offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guide magazines contain deals for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Choosing and booking the bestrental:
- First, have your family agree to date ranges and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Short walk to pools and the beach! Updated 2bdrm condo! All Hilton pool access! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rental home search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is often available on booking websites. If they are not listed, contact the host before reserving your rental. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach destination you are enamored with, look for homes that are either near by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you will need a property that allows animals. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
Know before you go:
- Be sure you get the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property. We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
- At Check-in, note any issues with the property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
- Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often times, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Lock your rental property while you are out! Don't let thieves spoil your vacation.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the property to confirm you've collected everything. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property one final time and look for damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Leave feedback! Property managers rely on good reviews to inspire future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
