Tricks and tips for getting the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental & When to go:
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer is high season in Myrtle Beach. To book the best rental home for your budget, we strongly suggest booking in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at Myrtle Beach restaurants, beaches, and activities.
- Hosts sometimes offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Property management companies often offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, visitors guides have offers and deals for local shops and restaurants.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Select dates and budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. 3BR\/3BA 12th floor OF views. Booking for Summer 2025 NOW! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly accessible online. If you don't see them listed, email the host before reserving the home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or applied to your invoice.
- Looking for specific amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking
Additional considerations:
- Add the property manager's contact info to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are away, just like you would back home.
- To ensure that damages aren't linked to your family's visit, inspect for any problem areas during arrival. Call the rental manager immediately to report any damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can typically help. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Double-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed everything at check-out. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager is not available, take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your group have a terrific stay? Most rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property manager was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
