Tips to get the very best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:

When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental & When to go:

  • In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are reserved early. Booking your vacation property 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
  • Summertime is the most expensive season in coastal SC. Booking your vacation home in the Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Some hosts offer promotional rates for veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family.
  • Property management companies often offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which often include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Choosing and booking the bestvacation home:

  • Select dates and budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Oceanfront condo with beach views, hot tubs, pools & fitness room has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is often accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email the property owner before reserving the vacation home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to establish what configuration is suitable for your family.
  • Some rentals allow pets, but some do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
  • Is your group looking for particular amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find your ideal rental home.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Take a copy of the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. Put the manager's information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, stereo or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent many issues.
  • Keep your rental home locked while you're out! Don't let crooks spoil your vacation.
  • To make certain that no damages are linked to your family's visit, inspect the property for any problem areas during check in. Call the host right away to report any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers disrupting your peaceful home life. Apply the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Just before checking out, complete a walk-through to make sure you have not forget anything. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property one final time and look for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager is not available, take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a wonderful time? Many rental managers make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
